and Next Steps for Environmentalisms in the U.S.

Chris Cuomo and Diana Pei Wu

In an interactive discussion format, Diana Pei Wu and Chris Cuomo will share the basics of climate change science and politics, and then discuss the politics of women, arctic indigenous, US urban-based people of color communities and Global South people's movements in what has been dubbed "the WTO-ization of environmental politics."

Chris Cuomo is Professor of Philosophy, University of Georgia, and author of Feminism and Ecological Communities: An Ethic of Flourishing and other works in environmental philosophy. She attended the Copenhagen Conference as a member of a delegation of ethicists and legal scholars assessing the negotiations’ attention to matters of equity, justice, and environmental integrity.

Diana Pei Wu received her Ph.D. in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management at the University of California, Berkeley. Diana co-authored ReGeneration: Young People Shaping Environmental Justice and recently edited Fertile Ground, Women Organizing at the Intersection of Reproductive Justice and Environmental Justice. She attended the Copenhagen Conference as a member of a delegation of US grassroots leaders from urban-based racial, economic and environmental justice communities.
